Philipp Portz has been a dedicated member of the METZEN team for nearly ten years. In a short time, he progressed from designer to project manager, and now serves as Senior Engineer and site manager. He currently heads up the Erkelenz site and is part of the company’s executive team.
Philipp combines extensive expertise in machining with qualification as a state-certified mechanical technician, specialising in design engineering. In addition to his technical skills, he has strengthened his profile through practical leadership and management training, enabling him to manage projects strategically, efficiently, and sustainably at the highest professional level.
In projects requiring technical understanding, attention to detail, and solution-oriented work, Philipp applies his expertise with precision. Examples include the emergency case at Buir Bliesheimer and the cold washing lines for Cedo and Hündgen, where he delivered reliable, sustainable, and practical solutions under high time pressure.
He is responsible for overall customer relationship management, operational and strategic leadership of the Erkelenz site, and collaboration with central company divisions at executive level.
