Marcel Funk heads up Gerwin Silotechnik as Managing Director and Co Shareholder of METZEN Industries. In this role, he is responsible for the company’s strategic direction, the development of new business areas and the creation of customer specific solutions in processing and crushing technology. His remit spans a broad range of industries, including construction materials, aggregates, cement, lime and gypsum production, as well as recycling.

With more than two decades of experience in sales, project management and executive leadership, he brings extensive expertise to Gerwin Silotechnik. He had already shaped the company’s future in his previous role as authorised signatory. Key milestones in his career include international assignments with Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions AG, responsibility for the Aggregates business across the DACH region, and leading market development for modernisation, revamping and service projects.

His education and qualifications include certification as a state certified mechanical engineering technician and a master’s degree as a technical business administrator. This combination enables him to integrate deep technical expertise with strong commercial acumen. His practical experience is rooted in a skilled trade apprenticeship in mineral processing, complemented by hands on work in manufacturing and design engineering.
