Expertise That Connects: Expanding Welding Technology at GERWIN Strengthens METZEN’s Technological Base

Targeted expansion of technological expertise is a core element of our business strategy. With the integration of GERWIN Silotechnik into METZEN, our range of capabilities continues to grow. At the same time, our depth of expertise in welding technology is steadily advancing.

While our Gochsheim site already hosts an established welding technology competence centre, GERWIN is now making a strong commitment to further developing this key technology. Two new IIW certifications within the GERWIN team highlight this progress:

  • Henrik Flunkert, Welding Supervisor and Trainer at GERWIN, has successfully earned the diploma of International Welding Technologist (IWT).
  • Stefan Niemand, Head of Development and Mechanical Engineering, has been certified as an International Welding Engineer (IWE).

Both qualifications were awarded by the International Institute of Welding (IIW), a globally recognised authority setting the highest standards in welding and joining technology. These diplomas represent deep expertise, international comparability, and the commitment to act as a technological leader.

The ongoing upskilling of our professionals is a strategic lever for sustainable growth and innovation. METZEN actively drives the advancement of welding expertise across the group—a further step towards optimising technical competencies for the future.
