Joachim Lohmann

Managing Director Circular Economy
Bitburg

Biography

Joachim Lohmann has more than 30 years of experience in international mechanical and plant engineering. Holding degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering, he combines expertise in conveying technology, plant development and process optimisation with extensive experience in international project management and sales.

During his time at HeidelbergCement, he was responsible for international investment and major projects, as well as the development and modernisation of cement plants. These included the modernisation of the Kakanj cement plant in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a particular focus on process and environmental optimisation, as well as the development and implementation of new cement plants in Russia and Kazakhstan. The investment volumes involved reached up to €355 million.

In addition, Joachim Lohmann played a key role in establishing international technical organisations and centres of expertise, while leading interdisciplinary and multicultural teams. Another significant stage in his career was at AUMUND Fördertechnik, where he most recently served as Sales Director Europe.

His combined experience from the operator’s perspective, engineering, plant construction and international project business shapes his approach: assessing complex challenges holistically, identifying optimisation potential at an early stage and evaluating investments with a focus on their long-term value.

For customers, this means well-founded advice and solutions that combine technical feasibility, plant performance and commercial viability. The focus is on reliable processes, future-proof plants and sustainable long-term value for customers.

„From challenge to successful solution – with expertise, perseverance and a clear focus on our customers’ sustainable success and long-term partnerships.“
