In 2024, 25.9 million tonnes of waste were thermally treated in ITAD’s 92 member plants alone. This equates to an average of around 281,000 tonnes per plant per year.

These throughput volumes place high demands on continuous material handling. Heterogeneous waste, refuse-derived fuels and abrasive materials need to be reliably picked up, transported and fed into the process. Any disruption can have an immediate impact on downstream processes and plant availability.
